About
A kestrel is the falcon that hovers.
It hangs motionless over a field, sees the one small thing moving in the grass, and drops on it with total precision. Then it comes back to the glove. That is the entire product thesis in one animal.
Why this exists
Endpoint support is the least interesting work in IT and it consumes the most people. A print spooler hangs, a VPN adapter is orphaned by a patch, a mapped drive loses its credential. A technician spends twenty minutes on a problem whose fix has not changed in a decade, writes a note, and does it again tomorrow.
The tools that can fix those things — RMM platforms — mostly want you to move your entire helpdesk to them. The tools that are helpdesk-agnostic will reset a password or provision an app, but they never touch the machine. There is a gap: deep endpoint action, inside whatever ticketing system you already run. That gap is Kestrel, and the agnosticism is not a feature, it is the moat.
We don’t want to replace your helpdesk. We want to make it quiet.
What we refuse to build
A general-purpose agent
Kestrel does not "handle IT". It restarts a named service on a named machine and writes the result into a named ticket. Generality is how these systems become unauditable.
A model that writes commands
The moment a language model can emit a shell string, the security review is over and you have lost. The model picks from a signed list. That is a permanent architectural decision, not a v1 limitation.
A default-on product
Every tenant starts Hooded. We will not ship a setup flow that ends with autonomy enabled, and we will not sell a plan that skips the ramp.
A second console for your techs
The resolution belongs in Zendesk, or ServiceNow, or wherever your team already lives. Eyrie is for the person who administers Kestrel, not for the person closing tickets.
